About Corvidea
Corvidae is the Latin name for the family of birds that includes the Crow, Raven, Jay and Magpie. These "dark" birds are everywhere in the vineyards of Eastern Washington. Their reputation as crafty, adaptable, and somewhat dubious characters is a fitting icon for our suspiciously terrific value wines from this region. The geology and climate here yields rich, complex fruit, with luscious fragrance and bright acidity.
So be wise like the crow and enjoy these great wines from the Pacific Northwest.

Corvidae is Owen Roe's value-driven second label. Much of the fruit for Corvidae is sourced from Owen Roe's 280-acre Outlook Vineyard. David O'Reilly is meticulous in the winery and in the vineyard for both Owen Roe and Corvidae.

Corvidae is Latin for the crow family of birds, which are a common presence in the eastern Washington vineyards. 'Rook' references the legendary luck associated with crows. 'Lenore' is named for Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven.' 'Mirth' refers to an old nursery rhyme about magpies. More wines in the series will be named for other references to crows in folklore.
